Jewelry Care
Jewelry Care
With a few simple care habits, your Monvielle jewelry can keep its brilliance and appearance for a long time.
Sterling Silver & Natural Tarnishing
Our current collection is crafted from 925 sterling silver and set with moissanite. Sterling silver may naturally develop slight tarnishing or oxidation over time. This is a normal chemical process and does not mean that the jewelry is damaged or defective.
Tarnishing can be accelerated by exposure to air, humidity, sweat, perfume, creams, lotions, oils, hairspray, chlorine, household chemicals and similar substances.
Moissanite Care
Moissanite itself does not tarnish, but oils, skincare products and everyday residue can form a film on the stone and temporarily reduce its sparkle.
For gentle cleaning, use lukewarm water, a small amount of mild soap and a very soft brush. Rinse carefully and dry thoroughly with a soft, lint-free cloth.
How to Care for Your Jewelry
- Apply perfume, creams, lotions and hairspray before putting on your jewelry and allow them to dry first.
- Remove jewelry before showering, swimming, exercising, cleaning or using household chemicals.
- After wearing, gently wipe the piece with a soft, dry cloth.
- For light tarnishing on sterling silver, use a soft silver-polishing cloth and polish gently.
- Store jewelry in a cool, dry place and avoid prolonged exposure to humidity.
- Avoid harsh abrasives, bleach, chlorine and aggressive chemical cleaners.
About Our Dark Navy Velvet Box
Our jewelry is presented in a dark navy velvet box. In rare cases, especially after prolonged contact or exposure to heat or humidity, a small amount of color from dark velvet may transfer onto the surface of sterling silver and appear as a temporary dark or bluish mark.
This is generally a surface transfer rather than damage to the metal. It can usually be removed gently with a clean, soft silver-polishing cloth. If a mark does not come off with gentle cleaning, please stop cleaning and contact us before using stronger products.
For long-term storage, especially in warm or humid conditions, we recommend keeping the jewelry dry and avoiding prolonged pressure against dark fabric.
